MEET CATHERINE

Passionate and Driven

Ms. Brownlee is the President and CEO of CBI, where she brings over 30 years’ experience in executive search and development, marketing strategies and networking around the globe, across all sectors. Her database of over 75,000 contacts demonstrates her capacity to motivate, build and achieve results. Her passion for connecting people and organizations, while nurturing objectives and maintaining focus, is her forte. She was recognized by her peers for this with an award for being among the top five Women of Influence in Calgary and a Paul Harris Award through the Rotary Club of Calgary.

Ms. Brownlee is a recognized expert and speaker on the subject of industry strategies and advancements. She developed and regularly presents the popular seminar, “How to get the job of your dreams.” She co-authored the book Want to Work in Oil and Gas? The book reveals strategies for finding great jobs in Calgary and was recognized as the number one book in Calgary within a few months of its release.

In 1998, Ms. Brownlee founded Prominent Personnel Ltd. The highly successful search firm rapidly established itself amongst the leading energy recruitment companies in Calgary, specializing in positive matches based on experience, credentials and culture fit. Capitalizing on Ms. Brownlee’s comprehensive knowledge of oilfield operations and her broad network of associates, Prominent Personnel provided quality recruitment to operating and contracting companies around the world.

In 2010, Ms. Brownlee became very involved in municipal and provincial politics. She also worked on contracts for a wide variety of clients that were a catalyst for her to expand her network across all sectors to include, and not limited to, government, finance, education, public service, health and medical, agriculture and not for profit.

Prior to establishing Prominent Personnel, Ms. Brownlee compiled an impressive background of over 11 years in the energy industry. Her tenure includes administration of the operations side of the business and technical sales to service companies such as Canadian Fracmaster, AGAT Laboratories and Northland Production Testing. Prominent Personnel offered its clients a number of enhanced services based on Ms. Brownlee’s broad experience and sound understanding of the evolving energy labour market.

In her spare time, Ms. Brownlee is committed to serving her community as Co-Chairman of the Rotary Tom Jackson Stay in School initiative and member of the Rotary Club of Calgary. Her passion is seen in the areas of human rights, serving children and disadvantaged communities.

As a Rotarian, Ms. Brownlee is seen in meetings across the province, connecting with leaders in all Rotary Clubs, expanding her network and building relationships.

MEET ALEX

Dynamic and Determined

An Executive Search Specialist based in Toronto, Canada, Alex Warne is the newest edition to the Catherine Brownlee team. With 25 years of experience in senior-level management in national healthcare organizations, Alex has cultivated a strong network of clinical professionals and senior business leaders. She is known for her zeal in selecting the right candidates for the right opportunity at the right time. Her executive career spans LifeMark Health and CBI Health in several progressive roles including Area Manager, Regional Manager, Manager of Business Development, and Clinic Director.

From 2013 to 2017, as the Principal of Warne Consulting, she used her extensive expertise to deliver executive-level candidates for placement in the health care, IT, and human resources industries, respectively.

Alex brings her extensive leadership experience to community fundraising and wellness initiatives such as Wellspring Halton and the Knot a Breast Dragon Boat Team. She was recently appointed as a volunteer member on the Burlington Accessibility Advisory Committee, which focuses on eliminating barriers and creating solutions to benefit the Burlington community.

During 2000 to 2013, while creating partnerships with her LifeMark staff, Alex spearheaded initiatives which resulted in successful business operations. Her team achieved the highest industry award with commendations leading to business growth and enhanced brand recognition. Alex developed sound financial acumen while supporting Clinic Directors in developing their annual budgets and business plans. By using her extensive experience in human resource management, Alex was able assist her direct reports with sound strategies in hiring staff with the right skills and aptitudes.

Alex enjoys paddling, tennis, yoga, skiing, and cycling. She also studied piano at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto where she fostered her love for music of all genres.

As former colleagues attest, “Alex is a connector.” She values and cultivates long lasting relationships. Her energy is boundless and she persists until she achieves the goals she has set for herself and others.
